CTAC's Arts Explosion is a week-long arts summer camp for students
who have completed third, fourth or fifth grades. This year's camp
is July 12-16, from 8:30 - 12:20. Drop-off is at 8:15, and pick-up
is no later than 12:30.
So that everyone may benefit from the Arts Explosion experience, discipline
problems will be addressed immediately and disruptive students may
be sent home with no refund.
On Friday, July 16, beginning at 5:30 there is an exhibition at the
Stephens County Fairgrounds.

POTTERY -
Dan Hazel comes to Duncan for his fifth Arts Explosion experience
after great student reviews from last year. Dan earned his BA Ed
at USAO and his MA at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He
is employed by Marlow Public Schools as the Art and Photography
teacher and has participated in numerous art shows and taken home
the top prize inmany. CTAC welcomes Dan back as our pottery instructor!
DRAWING -
Robby McMurtry will make his third appearance as an instructor
of drawing at Arts Explosion. McMurtry was born and raised in Stephens
County and now resides in Morris, OK where he is an arts instructor
and Cultural Coordinator of the Indian Education Program, Morris Public
Schools. Robby is an accomplished American Indian artist, illustrator
and author of "Song of Moon Pony." It's a great to have
Robby return to teach at Arts Explosion!
DANCE -
Amy Wopsle will make her first appearance as an instructor
of dance at Arts Explosion 2010. Amy Wopsle is from Oklahoma City
and now resides in Duncan, OK where she is an instructor at a local
dance studio. She will teach two types of dance: Hip-hop and Ballet
- students choice. Amy studied at Classen School of Advanced Studies
and Performing Arts and was a member of several dance troupes in the
city. It is great to have Amy join us to teach at Arts Explosion!
TIE-DYE & BATIK -
Dora Obuobisa is an inspiring artist with unique talents
in leather work, batik, tie-dye, and traditional African crafts.
She holds a BA in painting, a postgraduate diploma and MA in art
education from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
She has worked as an art instructor in several Oklahoma City Schools.
She will lead the students in tie-dye design. We welcome Dora back
for her 4th year at AE and the creations her students will unveil.
