Live From the Center presents
Leon Russell
Since first playing classical piano as a 3-year-old in Lawton,
to becoming the consummate session man, to writing Grammy-winning
songs, to selling gold albums as an individual performer, Leon Russell
has become a seminal figure in American music and an Oklahoma legend.
There have been tours with Joe Cocker, the Rolling Stones and Edgar
Winter; there have been focal roles in the Concert for Bangladesh,
and Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnics; and there's now a space
for "The Master of Space and Time" in the Oklahoma Music
Hall of Fame.
On December 1, 2007, Leon comes to Duncan for the first
time, still riveting audiences with the unique cacophony of rock,
blues, jazz, pop, country and gospel that's become known to his
fans simply as "Leon Russell music."
